Thibaut Courtois

Thibaut Courtois is a Belgian goalkeeper who has been Real Madrid's first-choice shot-stopper since 2018, following spells at Genk, Atlético Madrid and Chelsea. Renowned for his imposing frame, reflexes and command of his box, he kept 17 clean sheets in 45 appearances during the 2025/26 season and is closing in on a new one-year contract extension at the Bernabéu.

Courtois is also Belgium's long-serving number one and captain, though a groin injury forced him off during the Red Devils' 2026 World Cup quarter-final exit to Spain. He has since hinted at a break from international football before an intended return for Euro 2028 qualifying.
