Ewood Park

Blackburn, Blackburn, Lancashire 31,367 capacity

Blackburn Rovers FC plays at Ewood Park, located in the Ewood area of Blackburn, a town in Lancashire, northwest England. With a capacity of approximately 31,367 spectators, Ewood Park has been Blackburn's home since 1882 and has been significantly developed across multiple phases, most dramatically in the 1990s during the club's extraordinary Premier League-winning years. The Blackburn End and the Walker Steel Stand — both named to reflect local industrial heritage — are among the most distinctive features of a stadium that evolved from a traditional Victorian ground into one of English football's more substantial venues during the Jack Walker era of investment.

Ewood Park witnessed Blackburn Rovers' most glorious period when Jack Walker's investment transformed the club from First Division also-rans to Premier League champions in 1994–95 — one of English football's most surprising title wins. Under manager Kenny Dalglish and with the goals of Alan Shearer (before his world-record move to Newcastle), Blackburn won their first championship since 1914 in dramatic fashion. The stadium was full for those title-winning occasions, generating the kind of passion that only a genuinely unexpected championship can produce. Blackburn also won the League Cup in 2002 and participated in UEFA competition, bringing European football to Ewood Park.

Following Jack Walker's death in 2000 and subsequent changes in ownership — including a period under Indian owners Venky's that proved deeply controversial among supporters — Ewood Park has been the setting for both the memories of glory and the frustrations of decline. The stadium's large capacity, appropriate for Premier League football, has sometimes seemed oversized for Championship and lower-division crowds, though the loyal Blackburn fanbase has maintained consistent support. The ground's development has been paused as the club has navigated financial challenges, but its quality remains a reminder of the era when Blackburn Rovers were genuine Premier League champions.
