Estadi Municipal de Montilivi

Girona, Avenida Montlivi 141 14,624 capacity

The Estadio Municipal de Montilivi is the home of Girona FC, located in the city of Girona in the Catalonia region of northeast Spain. Originally opened in 1970, the stadium has undergone several phases of renovation to reach its current capacity of approximately 13,500 — making it one of the smallest venues in La Liga. Despite its compact size, Montilivi has become a venue of growing stature following Girona's remarkable ascent through Spanish football.

Girona FC's rise from lower-division obscurity to La Liga contenders — culminating in a stunning third-place finish in La Liga in the 2023–24 season under coach Michel Sánchez — has brought European football to Montilivi for the first time. The 2023–24 campaign, when they qualified for the UEFA Champions League, transformed the stadium into a national talking point. Their home ground, though modest in size, created an extraordinary atmosphere as Girona defeated some of Spain's biggest clubs.

The ground is located within easy walking distance of Girona's medieval old city, one of Catalonia's most beautiful urban settings. This combination of historic surroundings and top-level football gives Montilivi a unique charm. The record attendance is around 13,000. The stadium has been selected for expansion in the future to meet the demands of top-flight and European football. For Girona supporters, Montilivi is the unlikely backdrop to one of the most remarkable stories in recent Spanish football history.
