Randers FC was founded in 2003 through the merger of Randers Freja and FC Randers, two clubs from the central Jutland city of Randers. The club quickly established itself as a consistent Danish Superliga presence, competing alongside Denmark's established football institutions. Playing in blue and white, Randers represent the Jutland city of approximately 70,000 people and have built a modest but stable presence in Danish top-flight football. Their Danish Cup victory in 2006 remains the club's most celebrated domestic achievement.
