Gtech Community Stadium

Brentford, 166 Lionel Rd N 17,250 capacity

The Gtech Community Stadium is the modern home of Brentford Football Club, located at 166 Lionel Road North in Brentford, west London, close to Kew Bridge and the M4 motorway. The stadium holds 17,250 spectators and opened in September 2020, ending the club's 116-year association with Griffin Park, their beloved nearby ground. The new venue was built on the site of a former Great Western Railway goods shed and represents a significant step forward in facilities and capacity, though it retains a compact, atmospheric feel that suits the club's identity.

Griffin Park, which Brentford vacated for the Gtech, had been in use since 1904 and was unique in English football for having a pub on each corner. The new stadium, by contrast, is all 21st-century design and infrastructure, with excellent views of the pitch from every seat, improved concourse facilities, and a riverside location that makes matchday access straightforward. Despite opening mid-pandemic and initially hosting games behind closed doors, it quickly became a favourite among supporters and visiting fans for its intimate, electric atmosphere and sharp sightlines.

Brentford's rise to the Premier League in 2021 for the first time in 74 years added a new dimension to west London football. The Gtech Community Stadium has since hosted top-flight fixtures against the biggest clubs in England, consistently producing one of the league's most vibrant atmospheres. Naming rights are held by global healthcare company Gtech. The ground also hosts NFL London matches, underlining its multi-use commercial ambition. Plans to expand the ground to around 19,000 have been explored.
