Degerfors IF – Club History

Degerfors IF was founded in 1907 in Degerfors, a small industrial municipality in the Örebro County of central Sweden. Despite the town's modest size (approximately 9,000 inhabitants), Degerfors IF achieved their first promotion to the Allsvenskan in 2020, completing a long journey from lower divisions. Playing in red and white, the club represents the steelworks community of the Klarälven river valley and their promotion to Swedish football's top flight was celebrated enthusiastically across the industrial community. Their sustained top-flight presence since 2021 has been a remarkable achievement.
