Samsunspor – Club History
Samsunspor was founded in 1965 in Samsun, a major port city on the Black Sea coast of northern Turkey. The club plays in red and white and has had multiple periods of Süper Lig competition, representing the Black Sea coastal community and the tobacco-growing traditions of the Samsun region. After a long absence from the top flight, Samsunspor won promotion to the Süper Lig in 2023, returning to Turkish football's top tier after many years in the lower divisions.
