Team History

Östers IF – Club History

Östers IF was founded in 1930 in Växjö, the capital of the Kronoberg County in Småland, Sweden. The club won four Allsvenskan titles in their golden era during the 1970s and 1980s, establishing themselves as a genuine Swedish football power. Playing in yellow and black, Öster were champions of Sweden in 1968, 1978, 1980, and 1981, and competed in European football during their peak years. The club has since experienced significant decline, dropping through the Swedish football divisions, but remains a historically important institution in Swedish football.
