The Santiago Bernabéu is the iconic home of Real Madrid, one of the most celebrated football stadiums on the planet. Located in the heart of Madrid along the Paseo de la Castellana, the stadium was inaugurated on 14 December 1947, and was officially renamed in 1955 in honour of Santiago Bernabéu Yeste, the club's legendary president who was instrumental in commissioning its construction. With a capacity of approximately 81,000 following its extensive renovation, the Bernabéu stands as one of the largest and most modern stadiums in Europe.

Throughout its history, the ground has hosted some of the most prestigious events in football. It served as the venue for the 1982 FIFA World Cup final between Italy and West Germany, and has hosted multiple UEFA Champions League finals, including the legendary 1957 final and more recently in 2010. The stadium has witnessed Real Madrid's dominance in European football — from the five consecutive European Cup triumphs of the 1950s, to the club's record-extending 15th Champions League title. Icons such as Alfredo Di Stéfano, Ferenc Puskás, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo Nazário, and Cristiano Ronaldo have all lit up the Bernabéu's turf.

The stadium underwent a transformational redevelopment, completed in 2024, which saw it fitted with a retractable roof, a state-of-the-art retractable pitch, a new exterior façade of curved metallic panels, and dramatically improved hospitality and fan facilities. The record attendance at the Bernabéu stands at 129,690, set during a Copa del Generalísimo match in 1956 — a figure that speaks to the extraordinary draw this club and stadium have long held. Today, the renovated Bernabéu is not only a sporting arena but a year-round entertainment destination, cementing its status as the crown jewel of Spanish football.
