St. Mirren

St. Mirren FC plays at the SMISA Stadium, also known as St. Mirren Park, located in Paisley, a town in Renfrewshire, Scotland, immediately west of Glasgow. The current stadium opened in 2009, replacing the club's beloved Love Street ground which had served St. Mirren since 1894. The new stadium has a capacity of 8,023 spectators and was built to modern standards as part of Paisley's broader regeneration efforts. SMISA — the St. Mirren Independent Supporters Association — have a significant stake in the club through a community ownership model, giving the supporter base an unusual degree of involvement in the club's governance.

St. Mirren have a distinguished history in Scottish football despite operating from a relatively small city. The club has won the Scottish Cup on three occasions (1926, 1959, and 1987), with the 1987 triumph — a 1–0 victory over Dundee United in the final — being particularly celebrated. St. Mirren have also participated in European competition as a result of their domestic successes, bringing UEFA matches to their Paisley home. The club produced several notable players during their history, including Tony Fitzpatrick, who served the club as both player and manager and remains one of its most beloved figures.

The move from the traditional Love Street ground to the modern SMISA Stadium was initially controversial among St. Mirren supporters who were attached to the old ground's character and history, but the new facility has established itself as a functional and well-maintained venue for Scottish Premiership football. The community ownership dimension gives the club a distinctive identity compared to many other Scottish clubs and has helped generate strong local engagement with the football club and its stadium.
