FC Karpaty Lviv – Club History
FC Karpaty Lviv is a Ukrainian football club from Lviv, western Ukraine's largest city and cultural capital, named after the Carpathian Mountains that characterise the region. The club won the Soviet Cup in 1969 – one of the most celebrated achievements by a Ukrainian club in the Soviet era – and has competed in the Ukrainian Premier League across multiple eras. Playing in green and white, Karpaty represent the proud western Ukrainian cultural identity of Lviv and the Galicia region. The club faced financial difficulties that led to dissolution and reformation in recent years.
