The Stadio Comunale Via del Mare is the home of US Lecce, located at Viale dello Stadio in the city of Lecce, in the Apulia region of south-eastern Italy. The stadium holds 40,800 spectators and has been Lecce's home since its inauguration in 1966. The ground was built on the northern outskirts of the historic baroque city and takes its informal name from its original address on Via del Mare, the road leading to the Adriatic coast. Despite its substantial capacity, attendances vary considerably based on the club's league status, with full houses rare outside the most important fixtures.
