Stadion Gradski vrt
NK Osijek plays its home matches at Opus Arena, the most modern football stadium in Croatia outside of Zagreb. Located in Osijek, the largest city in Slavonia and the fourth-largest city in Croatia, Opus Arena opened in 2019 after a complete reconstruction of the previous Gradski vrt (City Garden) stadium, which had served Osijek since the 1920s. With a capacity of 13,500, the new ground was built to UEFA Category 4 standards and features a full roof covering all four stands, premium hospitality facilities, and a striking contemporary design. The stadium was renamed Opus Arena following a naming rights deal with the technology company Opus.
The reconstruction of the old Gradski vrt was funded primarily by the club's majority shareholder Željko Jerković, supported by significant investment in Osijek's football infrastructure. The new stadium has hosted Croatian Premier League matches, domestic cup ties, and has served as a venue for Croatian national team matches. Osijek achieved significant success in the late 2010s and early 2020s, winning the 2019–20 Croatian Football Cup and consistently challenging for league titles, with Opus Arena providing a fitting stage for these achievements. The stadium also hosted a Europa League group stage match during this period, marking a major milestone for football in Slavonia.
Osijek's investment in Opus Arena reflects the ambitions of one of Croatia's most progressive football clubs. The city of Osijek, which lies near the borders of Hungary and Serbia in eastern Croatia, has a passionate football culture shaped by its regional identity. Opus Arena serves not only as a sporting venue but as a community landmark that has helped revitalise interest in top-level football in Slavonia. With excellent transport links and modern amenities, it stands as one of the finest club stadiums in southeastern Europe.
