RWDM Brussels FC – Club History
RWDM Brussels FC (Racing White Daring Molenbeek) has a complex and fascinating history rooted in multiple Brussels football clubs, with the current iteration representing the revival of the historic Molenbeek football tradition in Brussels' most vibrant and multicultural district. The original Daring Club de Bruxelles was one of Belgium's founding football clubs, and the RWDM entity that competed in Belgian football in the 1970s–1990s had periods of genuine success. The current RWDM, reformed and restored, returned to the Belgian Pro League following promotion from the Challenger Pro League, bringing top-flight football back to Molenbeek for the first time in decades.
The original RWDM and its predecessor clubs won Belgian football championships and competed in European competition during their peak eras. The reformed club, promoted to the Belgian Pro League in 2023, aims to recapture some of the football heritage of this Brussels' district. Molenbeek's diverse, multicultural population gives RWDM a distinctive urban character and supporter base that reflects modern Brussels in an authentic way.
