Ham-Kam – Club History
Hamar Kameratene (Ham-Kam) was founded in 1918 in Hamar, a city in the Innlandet county of Norway on the shores of Lake Mjøsa, Norway's largest lake. Playing in orange and black, Ham-Kam represent the Hedmarken region and have had multiple periods in Norwegian top-flight football. The club's most celebrated modern era came in the late 1970s and early 1980s under manager Tor Røste Fossen, when they challenged consistently for Norwegian championships. Their return to the Eliteserien in 2022 after a long absence generated great excitement across the Lake Mjøsa region.
Ham-Kam's promotion back to the Eliteserien in 2022 was achieved with an attacking, entertaining style of football under manager Jostein Grindhaug that won admirers beyond Hamar. The club's first Eliteserien season in 14 years was celebrated with enthusiasm, and their competitive performances reflected the quality of Norwegian football's second tier in developing clubs for the top flight.
