Lausanne Sport Stadium

Stade de la Tuilière (Lausanne)

Lausanne 12,544 capacity

FC Lausanne-Sport plays at the Stade de la Tuilière, a brand new stadium located in the Vennes area of Lausanne, Switzerland. Opened in February 2020 with a capacity of 12,544 spectators, La Tuilière is one of Switzerland's newest and most modern football stadiums, purpose-built to provide Lausanne with a dedicated football venue replacing the shared use of the much larger Stade Olympique de la Pontaise. The stadium's compact, modern design creates an excellent atmosphere for Swiss Super League football, and its opening coincided with Lausanne-Sport's re-establishment as a Super League presence after years in the lower divisions.

FC Lausanne-Sport has a long history in Swiss football, having won the Swiss championship seven times (with their last title in 1965) and participated in European competition during their more successful periods. The club's recent revival and consistent Super League presence has been welcomed by a city that is the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee, UEFA, and numerous other international sports organisations — making Lausanne the undisputed capital of world sport governance. Having a competitive top-flight football club in a city so central to international sports administration is fitting, and La Tuilière provides a modern venue appropriate for the city's sporting ambitions.

La Tuilière's lakeside Lausanne setting — the stadium is close to the northern shores of Lake Geneva, with the Alps visible across the lake on clear days — places it in one of Europe's most beautiful urban environments. Lausanne is known for its UNESCO-listed medieval Old Town, its role as Switzerland's judicial capital (home to the Federal Supreme Court), and its vibrant university culture. FC Lausanne-Sport's participation in the Super League gives this internationally significant city a competitive domestic football club to follow, and La Tuilière provides the modern infrastructure appropriate for the club's ambitions to build on the solid foundation of their recent Super League campaigns.
