Brann Stadion
SK Brann plays at Brann Stadion, located in Minde, Bergen, Norway's second-largest city and principal city on the western coast. The stadium opened in 2007 and has a capacity of 18,188 spectators, making it one of the largest purpose-built football stadiums in Norway. Built on the site of the old Brann Stadion which had served the club since the 1910s, the new ground was constructed as part of Bergen's broader sporting infrastructure development. Bergen is one of Scandinavia's most characterful cities, known for its colourful wooden houses, fish market, and the spectacular Norwegian fjords surrounding it, and Brann Stadion serves the football needs of this vibrant community.
SK Brann won the Norwegian Eliteserien championship in 2007, the year the new stadium opened, creating a perfect alignment between the launch of their new home and a title triumph. The club has a passionate supporter base known for their intensity, and Bergen's proud footballing identity is deeply connected to Brann's history. The 2007 title, which ended a 44-year wait for Norwegian championship success, was celebrated enormously throughout Bergen and western Norway. Brann's stadium has hosted European competition on several occasions, bringing clubs from across the continent to the Norwegian west coast.
Brann Stadion's design provides an impressive home for Norwegian football, with covered seating on all four sides creating an enclosed, atmospheric environment. Bergen's weather — the city is one of the rainiest in Europe — has historically been a factor in Norwegian football, and the covered design of the stadium provides greater comfort for supporters than many older Norwegian grounds. Brann's consistent presence in the Eliteserien and their role as western Norway's principal football club ensures the stadium remains one of the most important venues in Norwegian football. The passionate "Bataljonen" ultra group ensures that matchdays at Brann Stadion are among the most atmospheric in the Norwegian league.
