Como Stadium

Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia

Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia

Como, Via Giuseppe Sinigaglia, 3 13,602 capacity

The Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia is the charming home of Como 1907, located at Via Giuseppe Sinigaglia 3 on the western shore of Lake Como in the city of Como, Lombardy. The stadium holds 13,602 spectators and was inaugurated in 1927, making it one of Italy's oldest football grounds still in active use at professional level. The stadium's position directly beside the lake, with the Alpine foothills rising behind, gives it one of the most spectacularly beautiful natural settings of any football ground in Europe. Named after a local sporting figure and mayor, the Sinigaglia is a compact, traditional Italian stadium that has witnessed the city's football club across many decades of highs and lows.

Como 1907 spent many years outside the top two tiers of Italian football before their dramatic revival under Indonesian businessman Mirwan Suganda and a group of investors who acquired the club and provided substantial new resources. The club won promotion to Serie B in 2021 and then, astonishingly, to Serie A in 2024 under coach Cesc Fabregas, the former Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea midfield player who began his managerial career on the shores of Lake Como. Como's return to Serie A for the first time since 2003 brought Claudio Fabregas's charismatic project to the attention of the entire footballing world, and the Sinigaglia became one of Serie A's most talked-about venues.

The Sinigaglia's modest capacity and historic fabric have required substantial upgrading to meet Serie A and UEFA standards. Renovation works have been undertaken to improve facilities while preserving the stadium's historic character. The ground's lakeside position means that on clear days, views of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains are visible from the upper tiers - a backdrop that no other top-flight Italian or European stadium can match. Como's ability to attract internationally experienced players to such a scenic location, alongside the football project, has made the Stadio Sinigaglia one of Serie A's most romantically compelling destinations.
