AIKAIK Stadium

Strawberry Arena
AIK (Allmänna Idrottssällskapet) plays at Friends Arena in Solna, immediately north of Stockholm, a massive modern stadium with a capacity of 54,329 spectators that serves as both Sweden's national football stadium and AIK's home ground. The stadium opened in 2012, replacing the legendary Råsundastadion that had served Swedish football for decades. Friends Arena is one of Scandinavia's largest stadiums and one of Europe's finest modern sporting venues, with its retractable roof, premium facilities, and cutting-edge technology creating a world-class football environment. The naming rights are held by the Swedish anti-bullying organisation Friends, making it one of the few major stadia named after a charitable institution.
AIK is one of Sweden's most celebrated clubs, having won the Swedish championship twelve times. The club has a passionate supporter base particularly associated with Stockholm's northern suburbs and working-class traditions, with the "Black Army" ultras known for their intense support and distinctive culture. AIK participated in the UEFA Champions League group stage in 1999–2000, competing against Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Olympique Lyonnais in one of the most competitive groups in Champions League history. Their famous home victory over Real Madrid that season at Råsundastadion (the predecessor ground) remains one of the great upsets in Champions League history.
Friends Arena provides AIK with one of Europe's most impressive home venues, though the enormous capacity means that most Allsvenskan matches are played in front of a relatively small proportion of the available space. For major occasions — European qualifiers, crucial title-deciding matches, and the annual Stockholm derby against Djurgårdens IF or Hammarby — the stadium fills impressively, generating an outstanding atmosphere. The venue has hosted major concerts, international sporting events, and cultural occasions alongside football, confirming its status as one of Sweden's premier large-scale event spaces. AIK's use of such a world-class facility reflects the ambitions of one of Scandinavian football's most historically significant clubs.
