Ceres Park
Ceres Park is the home of AGF (Aarhus Gymnastik Forening), located at Stadion Alle 70 in Arhus, Denmark's second-largest city and the principal city of Jutland. The stadium holds 19,433 spectators and has been in various forms the home of AGF and Danish football in Arhus since the early twentieth century. The current Ceres Park name derives from a commercial naming rights agreement with the local Ceres brewery, which has historical connections to the Arhus region. The stadium has been progressively modernised and sits in the heart of Arhus, one of Europe's most architecturally celebrated mid-sized cities, known for its ARoS art museum and its vibrant cultural scene.
AGF are one of Denmark's oldest and most historically significant clubs, founded in 1880, and have won nine Danish championship titles, the most recent in 1986. The club has produced notable Danish internationals across their long history and has been a consistent presence in the Superliga, with periods of both success and challenge. Arhus's cultural prominence as Denmark's "second capital" gives AGF a broader national following, and matches at Ceres Park draw supporters from across Jutland for important Superliga fixtures. The club's traditional white shirts and deep historical roots make them one of Danish football's most recognisable institutions.
Ceres Park's modernisation has provided AGF with improved facilities while maintaining the stadium's strong connection to the Arhus football community. The venue is compact and atmospheric, generating good crowd noise for Superliga matches. Arhus itself has undergone extraordinary urban transformation in recent decades, with major architectural projects including the ARoS museum's iconic rainbow panorama and the transformation of the former industrial harbour into a cultural and residential district making it one of Europe's most admired mid-sized cities. AGF's presence at Ceres Park gives Denmark's cultural capital a consistent connection to top-flight Danish football and to European competition during the club's qualifying campaigns.
