Strømsgodset Stadium

Marienlyst Stadion
Strømsgodset IF plays at Marienlyst Stadion, located in Drammen, a city of approximately 100,000 inhabitants in Viken county, around 40 kilometres southwest of Oslo. The stadium has a capacity of approximately 8,935 spectators and has been the home of Strømsgodset, historically one of Norway's most celebrated clubs, for many decades. Drammen is situated in the Drammenselva river valley and is one of the most important industrial and commercial cities in the greater Oslo region, with Strømsgodset's working-class roots reflecting the traditional industries of the city.
Strømsgodset won the Norwegian Eliteserien championship in 2013, ending a title drought and confirming the club's return to the pinnacle of Norwegian football under coach David Nielsen. That title was particularly celebrated as it came against the backdrop of limited financial resources compared to some rivals, reflecting the club's smart player development approach and tactical excellence. The club has produced several notable Norwegian internationals over the years, with Marienlyst Stadion being the venue where many of these players were first seen in the Eliteserien. Strømsgodset's Europa League campaigns, while modest, demonstrated the club's competitiveness at the European level.
Marienlyst Stadion has undergone various development works over the years to maintain its standards as an Eliteserien venue. The compact and traditional design of the ground creates a strong home advantage, and Strømsgodset's passionate supporters — known as "Godset-gjengen" — ensure that the stadium is an imposing venue for visiting sides on important matchdays. Drammen's strong industrial and commercial character is reflected in the club's working-class identity, and the connection between Strømsgodset and the Drammen community gives the stadium its particular atmosphere and meaning beyond the pure sporting function.
