FC Blau-Weiß Linz was founded in 1997 in Linz, Austria's third-largest city on the Danube River. The club earned promotion to the Austrian Bundesliga in 2023, returning top-flight football to the city alongside LASK. Playing in blue and white (as the name suggests), Blau-Weiß represent the working-class communities of Linz and have worked through the Austrian football pyramid to reach the Bundesliga. Their promotion in 2023 added a second Linz club to the Austrian top flight and gave the city a healthy football rivalry.
