Stadion HNK Rijeka

Rijeka, Rujevica ulica 6B 8,279 capacity

Stadion HNK Rujevica, commonly known as Rujevica, is the home ground of HNK Rijeka and one of the most modern football stadiums in Croatia. Opened on 11 July 2017, the stadium was purpose-built as a state-of-the-art facility to replace the ageing Kantrida stadium, which had long been considered outdated and difficult to reach. Located in the Rujevica neighbourhood of Rijeka, the new ground has a seating capacity of 8,279 and was constructed at a cost of approximately €30 million. It was built specifically to comply with UEFA standards, enabling Rijeka to compete in European competitions from a modern base.

Rujevica quickly became the scene of historic moments for Croatian football. In the 2017–18 UEFA Europa League, Rijeka became the first Croatian club to progress through the group stage of a major UEFA club competition, competing against AC Milan, Olympique Lyonnais and Vitesse Arnhem. Those European nights at Rujevica attracted packed crowds and generated tremendous excitement across Croatia. The stadium's design features four individual stands, a partial roof, and modern facilities including corporate hospitality areas and press facilities that meet contemporary standards for professional football.

Despite its relatively modest capacity, Rujevica regularly records sell-out crowds when Rijeka are engaged in key 1.HNL matches or European ties. The intimacy of the venue creates an intense atmosphere, with the Armada ultras group generating passionate support. The stadium represents a significant step forward for Rijeka's ambitions as a club, and it continues to serve as the beating heart of football in the Kvarner Bay region of Croatia. Plans for potential capacity expansion have occasionally been discussed as the club's ambitions grow on the domestic and European stage.
