Stade Jean Bouin

Paris, 20-40 avenue du Général Sarrail 75016 Paris 15,097 capacity

The Stade Jean Bouin is the compact home of Paris FC, located at 20-40 avenue du General Sarrail in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, adjacent to the Parc des Princes. The stadium holds 15,097 spectators and was rebuilt and opened in 2013, replacing the previous Jean Bouin stadium that had occupied the same site since 1925. Designed by Rudy Ricciotti, the striking new building features a perforated concrete facade of extraordinary visual complexity, making it one of Paris's most architecturally distinctive modern buildings. The stadium is primarily used for rugby union by the Stade Francais Paris rugby club as well as football by Paris FC.

Paris FC are the lesser-known of Paris's two professional football clubs, the other being PSG, and have spent much of their modern history in the lower tiers of French football. The club was founded in 1969 and is a separate entity from PSG, sharing a connection to the earlier Paris FC that was merged with PSG in the 1970s. Under investor backing, Paris FC returned to Ligue 1 in 2025, ending a long absence from the top flight and giving Paris a second top-division representative for the first time in many years. The Stade Jean Bouin's proximity to the Parc des Princes creates an unusual concentration of professional football in the 16th arrondissement.

The Stade Jean Bouin's limited capacity reflects the ground's multi-use character and the constraints of its prestigious residential neighbourhood. The architectural drama of the perforated concrete shell has earned international recognition and won multiple design awards, making it one of the most photographed sports buildings in France. Paris FC's arrival in Ligue 1 brings a new dimension to Parisian football, providing an alternative for supporters who seek a different experience to the PSG brand. Plans for the club's longer-term infrastructure, including a possible dedicated football venue, form part of the ownership's vision for establishing Paris FC as a genuine top-flight presence.
