Vitality Stadium

Bournemouth, Dean Court, Kings Park 11,700 capacity

The Vitality Stadium, known historically as Dean Court, is the compact home of AFC Bournemouth, situated in Kings Park on the outskirts of Bournemouth town centre, Dorset. With a capacity of 11,700, it is currently one of the smallest stadiums in the Premier League, yet this intimate setting is one of its defining features. The club has played at this site since 1910, when the ground was little more than a field. Over the decades the stadium has been developed progressively, with the current covered stands taking shape from the 1990s onwards.

The Vitality Stadium's tight dimensions mean that supporters are exceptionally close to the pitch, creating an intense and vocal atmosphere that larger clubs often struggle to replicate in their more cavernous grounds. This closeness has made it a genuinely challenging venue for visiting teams, and Bournemouth's rise from the lower leagues to sustained Premier League membership under owner Maxim Demin and a succession of innovative managers has given the ground a new significance in the English football landscape. It has hosted top-flight football consistently since the club's promotion in 2015, with only brief interruptions.

The ground's naming rights have been held by insurance company Vitality since 2015. Plans for a new or significantly expanded stadium have been discussed to bring Bournemouth's capacity more in line with Premier League rivals, but the current ground retains a charm and character that supporters value deeply. The official name remains the Vitality Stadium but it is still widely referred to as Dean Court, reflecting the club's deep community roots in the south of England.
