FC Twente

De Grolsch Veste is the modern home of FC Twente, located at Colosseum 65 in Enschede, Overijssel, in the eastern Netherlands close to the German border. The stadium holds 30,205 spectators and was inaugurated in 1998, replacing the old Diekman Stadion that had served the club for decades. Named after the famous Grolsch brewery, which is headquartered in Enschede, the ground was designed as a state-of-the-art purpose-built football venue and remains one of the finest in the Netherlands. The compact, covered four-stand design creates excellent acoustics and strong sight lines throughout the ground.

FC Twente achieved their greatest moment in 2010 when they won the Eredivisie title for the first time in the club's history, under coach Steve McClaren, with a squad including Bryan Ruiz, Nacer Chadli, and Marko Arnautovic. De Grolsch Veste celebrated this historic triumph and subsequently hosted Champions League group stage football. The stadium has also witnessed the club's Europa League campaigns and has been the setting for some exceptional Dutch football. The Enschede derby against Heracles Almelo - separated by just 16 kilometres - is one of the most locally intense rivalries in the Eredivisie.

De Grolsch Veste is one of the Netherlands' most reliably full stadiums when Twente are performing well. The Vak P section in the south stand is the heart of the club's supporter culture and generates the loudest atmosphere during important matches. FC Twente's history has not been without turbulence - the club suffered financial difficulties and relegation in the mid-2010s before returning to the Eredivisie and re-establishing themselves in the top half of Dutch football. The stadium's modern facilities and the club's passionate Twente region support base make De Grolsch Veste one of the Eredivisie's best venues for atmosphere and quality.
